As part of the Open Banking initiative, every personal bank is now scored by its customers for quality of service. These scores are collated into league tables by the Competition and Markets Authority. Unsurprisingly, first direct came top of almost all the tables.

By law, these tables must be displayed by all the banks in all their branches, on their sites, even in their apps. That must be embarrassing, having to display a table saying how much better another bank is. So we thought we should apologise.
